1. What the service provides

Nearby Share is an independent browser tool for direct file transfer between nearby devices. It is not Google's Nearby Share or Quick Share and does not pair with the native Quick Share app. No user account is required.

Devices need a compatible browser, a network that permits a direct WebRTC connection and internet access for discovery and setup. The service is intended for devices on the same Wi-Fi or local network. Network grouping uses public network addresses and does not guarantee that every discovered device is trusted or on the same physical network.

2. Your files and responsibilities

Only send files that you own or have permission to share. Confirm the intended recipient before sending, and only accept files from devices you trust. You are responsible for your file contents, copyright permissions, device security and compliance with laws that apply to your use.

Do not transmit malware, unlawful content, material that violates another person's privacy or intellectual property rights, or files intended to harm or deceive a recipient. Do not attack, overload, probe or bypass the service's security controls or rate limits.

3. Transfers, cancellations and downloads

The receiving device must accept a transfer request. Either device may cancel a transfer. Cancellation stops the current session but does not revoke completed downloads or prevent the recipient from retaining or sharing files already received.

Transfers may fail because of VPN policies, guest-network isolation, browser restrictions, lost connections, memory limits or device changes. Keep a separate copy of important files and verify received files before deleting your originals. The service is not a backup or permanent file-storage service.

4. Privacy and analytics

Our Privacy Policy explains local file processing, connection metadata, browser storage and optional analytics. Accepting analytics is not required for file transfer. You can change your analytics choice in Cookie settings.

5. Availability and changes

We may change features, apply reasonable limits, perform maintenance or suspend access to address abuse, security risks or service disruptions. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, a particular transfer speed or compatibility with every device, network or file format.

6. Website and third-party software

You retain your rights in the files you send. Using the tool does not transfer ownership of your files to us. Website code, design and third-party components are subject to their applicable ownership and license terms.

Cloudflare and Google services used by the website have their own terms and privacy policies. Their inclusion does not imply that they endorse this tool.

7. Warranties and liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available, without a guarantee that transfers will always succeed or that the service will meet every requirement. To that extent, we are not responsible for loss caused by interrupted transfers, recipient actions or your failure to retain a backup.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. Mandatory laws applicable to you continue to apply.
